Royal Commission announces the completion of 92% of Riyadh Train project

According to sources in the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the “Riyadh Train” project is 92 percent complete.

According to the Al-Arabiya channel, the sources also stated that the project’s construction and civil works were completed and that the project was successful in supplying and testing more than 180 trains.

According to the sources, the train operator has progressed to the point where the trains have covered almost 2 million kilometers on all lines.

The Riyadh electric train, also known as the “Riyadh Metro,” is part of the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh, which includes trains and buses. Six major metro lines have been created, with 85 stops that pierce the capital Riyadh from all directions.

According to statistics studies conducted in conjunction with the project, Riyadh’s population is predicted to rise from 6 million to more than 8.5 million people in the next ten years, necessitating the provision of more effective options to meet the city’s current and future mobility needs.

Studies confirm the project’s contribution to reducing the number of car trips by about 250 thousand per day and saving the equivalent of 400,000 liters of fuel per day, lowering the percentage of air-polluting emissions.
