Flower Festival in Al Qatif Brings Down Its Curtain
Yesterday at Saihat Park, the third Flower Festival, organized by the Eastern Province Municipality, represented by the Qatif Governorate, came to an end.
The event attracted about two hundred fifty thousand visitors over its 10 days.
The Municipality clarified that the festival featured 158 corners and 236 male and female volunteers with a range of specializations.
Moreover, it stressed that the festival succeeded in attracting families, locals, and visitors from a variety of geographic areas.
The people were interested due to the different programs and segments, which appeal to all societal categories.
Activities Included in Festival
The Municipality stated that the festival included many activities such as:
- Cultural contests
- Well-known performances
- Special events for women and children interested in arts and crafts
- Workshops on flower-forming techniques
- Planting different kinds of flowers
- Areas dedicated to raising awareness of health issues
- Artistic activities
Decoration in Flower Festival
According to the Eastern Province Municipality, the festival covered 45 thousand square meters.
Additionally, the festival was designed with green areas and a variety of trees adorned with over half a million flowers. In addition to that, the festival was decorated with sculptures and lighting in all festival’s sections.
Aims of Flower Festival
The municipality stated that it aims to establish Qatif as a popular tourist destination. Thus, it fosters an atmosphere encouraging locals and guests to engage in a variety of activities, including cultural and recreational pursuits.
Furthermore, the Flower Festival aims to combat pollution, enhance the environment, and project a valuable picture for the city.
