CST Launches Spectrum Auction for Mobile Telecommunication Networks

Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) will hold the 5th Spectrum Auction for Mobile Telecommunication Networks on November 10.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the auction will focus on the frequency bands 600, 700, and 3800 MHz.

The event aims basically to boost digital infrastructure and foster the competitiveness of mobile telecommunication networks.

Steered by Saudi Vision 2030, the auction will further deploy innovative and cutting-edge telecom networks across the Kingdom.

Therefore, it will significantly strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a prestigious hub for innovation and technology.

Interestingly, the CST has unveiled the three qualified applicants in the auctions, as follows:

  • Saudi Telecom Company (STC)
  • Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily)
  • Zain KSA

The Commission also noted that the qualified applicants will participate in the auction to acquire a total of 310 MHz in the 600, 700, and 3800 MHz bands.

Thus, the bandwidth of the spectrum for mobile telecommunications networks will notably expand and increase offering high-quality services for individuals and companies.
