Recipe of Mutabbaq
Ingredients:
– For the Dough:
– 2 cups of all-purpose flour
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)
– 2 tbsp oil
– For the Filling:
– 500g minced meat (beef or lamb)
– 1 large onion, finely chopped
– 1 green bell pepper, finely diced
– 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
– 2 beaten eggs
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tsp ground cumin
– 1 tsp ground coriander
– A handful of chopped parsley or cilantro
– Additional:
– Oil for frying
– Butter (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
– Firstly, in a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Then, gradually add water and oil, kneading until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
– Secondly, divide the dough into small balls, coat them lightly with oil, and let them rest for about 30 minutes.
2. Prepare the Filling:
– Thirdly, in a skillet, cook the minced meat until browned. Add onions, green bell pepper, and tomatoes. After that, cook until the vegetables are soft.
