Arab coalition announces the interception of 17 booby-trapped planes
The Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the destruction of six drones launched by Ansar Allah towards the Kingdom.
According to the Saudi Press Agency SPA, the coalition said that the air defences intercept and destroy six booby-trapped drones launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the Kingdom.
He added: “This brings the total number of intercepted aircraft today to 17 drones.”
The escalation of the Houthi militia reflects its hostile behaviour and its rejection of a political solution. The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, loyal to the Ansar Allah group, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed the targeting of King Khalid Air Base, southwest of Saudi Arabia, with a booby-trapped drone.
Saudi Arabia has led, since 26 March 2015, a military alliance of Arab and Islamic countries in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government in its quest to restore the capital Sanaa and large areas in Yemen seized by the Ansar Allah group in late 2014.
