Successful Pakistani Visits in 2023
In a promotional event held in Karachi, Al Hassan Al Dabbagh, the director of Asian and Pacific markets for the Saudi Tourism Authority, highlighted the significant number of Pakistani visitors in 2023.
Over a million Pakistanis visited the Kingdom for Umrah this year alone, according to SABQ Online Newspaper.
Successful Pakistani Visits in 2023
The strong presence of Pakistani nationals working and visiting Saudi Arabia was emphasized, underlining the strategic importance of the Pakistani market. With over 2.5 million Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia, the mutual visits and connections are substantial and form a crucial part of the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Ambitious Plans for Pakistani Tourism
Al Dabbagh set a bold goal for the Saudi Tourism Authority: attract over 3.5 million Pakistani visitors by 2030. Furthermore, he considers this target both realistic and achievable. Moreover, the Kingdom has shown a strong commitment to warmly welcoming Pakistani tourists.
Consequently, this commitment strengthens the tourism sector. Additionally, Saudi Arabia remains a preferred destination for many Pakistanis, especially during Ramadhan. It’s a key site for performing Umrah and visiting holy places in Mecca and Medina.
Enhancing Travel Convenience, Accessibility
These initiatives are in place to enhance tourism between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They include increasing the number of flights between the countries. Moreover, to improve the travel experience for Pakistani visitors, the Saudi Tourism Authority introduced the ‘Nusuk’ app. As the first Saudi platform for travel to Mecca, Medina, and other holy sites, ‘Nusuk’ makes travel easier.
It streamlines the process of managing flights and hotels and simplifies the e-visa process.
Marketing Initiatives, Strategic Plans
Al Dabbagh revealed plans for a significant marketing campaign in Pakistan by the end of the year. The strategy involves collaborating with celebrities, influencers, and travel bloggers in Pakistan to highlight the changes being made to make Umrah more accessible and convenient than ever before.
Additionally, the Saudi government is planning to focus on promoting other Islamic historical sites to diversify the tourist experience beyond Umrah.
Accelerated Visa Processing
In an effort to facilitate the pilgrimage and make the journey to the Kingdom as smooth as possible, the Saudi government has expedited the visa issuance process. This development allows pilgrims to apply for Umrah visas online and receive their visas in less than 24 hours.
This rapid visa processing is a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to encouraging more visitors and simplifying their travel logistics.
