“Advisor of Kings” Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Shathri dies in Saudi Arabia
The family of the advisor in the Saudi Royal Court, Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Shathri, known as the “Advisor of Kings”, announced his death on Thursday evening after a struggle with illness.
His son, Ahmed Al-Shathri, said via Twitter: “Go to the mercy of God Almighty, my dear father, His Excellency Sheikh Nasser Al-Shathri. May God bless him with the vastness of His mercy, forgiveness, satisfaction, and place him in His vast gardens.”
Media outlets in the Kingdom, including Okaz and Akhbar Al-Saudia, confirmed the news.
Sheikh Nasser was known in Saudi Arabia as “Advisor of kings”. He held the position of in the royal court during the reigns of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, all the way to the current monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
King Salman had previously visited Sheikh Nasser several times to check on his health. He had been suffering from a disease for several years; the last king’s visit was in 2019, and the Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, visited Al-Shathri in 2021 to congratulate him on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
