Saudi Arabia to Host UN Global Supply Chain Forum in 2026

Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser has announced that Saudi Arabia will host the second edition of the UN Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) in November 2026, in collaboration with the United Nations and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani). The announcement was made during the 16th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva, Switzerland.

Al-Jasser welcomed all participating countries, emphasizing that hosting the forum reflects the Kingdom’s global leadership in supporting international trade, enhancing logistical connectivity and cooperation among nations, and advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub connecting three continents. He expressed hope for active participation from member states in shaping the future of global trade.

He also noted that Saudi Arabia’s strategic location—linking Asia, Africa, and Europe—positions it as a key transit point for over 13% of global trade flows. The Kingdom’s ports are among the most efficient globally, forming part of one of the fastest-growing port systems. Al-Jasser highlighted that Saudi Arabia has become a global leader and pivotal hub for supply chains, not only due to its geographic advantage and robust infrastructure—including ports, airports, and land crossings—but also through strategic investments in infrastructure, digital transformation, and green-transition initiatives.

Finally, these efforts, he said, strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a reliable and influential partner in shaping the future of global trade.
