During an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef held a series of meetings with top executives from leading Chinese firms, including Tsinghua Unigroup, BOE Technology Group, and Kyland Technology. The discussions centered on strengthening industrial cooperation and accelerating the localization of advanced manufacturing technologies within the Kingdom.
Key topics included opportunities to develop industrial digital infrastructure, intelligent industrial control systems, and the semiconductor sector. The meetings also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s competitive advantages for investors—its strategic location linking three continents, abundant natural resources, affordable energy, world-class infrastructure and industrial cities, and streamlined government procedures that facilitate business operations.
On the sidelines of these meetings, three memoranda of understanding were signed between the National Industrial Development Center and the Chinese companies:
- BOE Technology Group: Collaboration in advanced display technologies.
- Kyland Technology: Partnership on intelligent industrial control systems.
- Tsinghua Unigroup: Cooperation in the semiconductor industry.
These agreements aim to localize cutting-edge manufacturing technologies in Saudi Arabia. The meetings were attended by National Industrial Development Center CEO Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, alongside key figures from both Saudi Arabia’s and China’s industrial ecosystems.
