GACA Spotlights Saudi Aviation Achievements at Egypt International Airshow 2024

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is taking part in Egypt International Airshow 2024, from September 3-5, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The event features an array of activities and brings together prominent figures in the aviation industry.

Led by GACA President, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, the Saudi delegation aims to showcase the achievements of the Saudi aviation sector, the objectives of the national aviation strategy, and the regulations designed to advance growth and innovation in the Kingdom.

Additionally, the Saudi participation aims to enhance bilateral relations and business partnerships, discuss investment opportunities in the Kingdom, and explore fields of cooperation to promote a more prosperous aviation sector.

Egypt International Airshow 2024 is taking place at El Alamein International Airport, north of Egypt. It brings together over 100 countries, 300 exhibitors, and an elite of aviation and aerospace leaders from around the world. The grand event aims to display the latest technologies, equipment and advanced aircraft designed for various civil and commercial uses.

Moreover, the event aims to accelerate industrialization, digitalization, and globalization in the defense, space, and commercial aviation sectors in Africa and the Middle East. Egypt International Airshow 2024 will feature aircraft displays and an exhibition of innovative aerospace products and services.

Over the past few years, the civil aviation sector in Saudi Arabia has undergone a massive transformation, in line with the objectives of the national aviation strategy. It has achieved record numbers in 2024, with 17% growth in passenger numbers between January and June, totaling 62 million passengers.

Furthermore, airflights have increased by 12% to reach 446,000 flights, exceeding pre-pandemic levels. GACA has also made great efforts to update its regulations to enable growth and innovation in Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector.
