Saudi Industry Launches “Factory Developer Consultant” License to Improve Production Efficiency

The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has launched a new service for licensing “Factory Developer Consultant” as part of its industrial consultancy licenses. This initiative aims to foster the growth of industrial facilities. It also improves production efficiency, and leverage the expertise of national professionals in the industrial sector.
An industrial development consultant is responsible for creating and improving companies and facilities, enhancing production lines, reducing material costs. They also organize operations, improve quality standards, analyze performance to boost effectiveness, and communicate with stakeholders like investors.

The roles include, being a factory development consultant, developing production and operational processes, estimating costs, creating strategic frameworks, reviewing schedules and specifications, and preparing management reports. Other tasks involve planning manufacturing sequences, documenting results, and recommending new systems, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The license is issued based on several criteria. The applicant must be a Saudi national with at least a bachelor’s degree from a university in the Kingdom, or an equivalent foreign qualification. Additionally, the factory developer must have at least 3 years of experience in developing industrial facilities.
The licensing authority for industrial and mining consulting was transferred from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources about two years ago. Additionally, factory development consultants are now covered under the industrial consulting licenses introduced by the ministry to support national industrial growth.
Finally, the Ministry invites those wishing to obtain a “Factory Developer Consultant” license to apply and attach the required documents to the website.
