Saudi Projects Compete for ITU WSIS Prizes

The Saudi Communications and Technology Commission (CITC) is calling upon the public to actively engage in the voting process for Saudi projects vying for recognition at the 2024 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes.

This initiative will foster the competitiveness of national digital endeavors on a global scale while simultaneously facilitating broader access to a comprehensive and sustainable digital economy.

Call for Public Participation

The CITC underscores the ongoing opportunity for individuals to cast their votes in support of the 31 Saudi projects. Moreover, 20 government and private entities will participate in these projects

The voting window will remain open until March 31, 2024. Votes can be conveniently submitted through the designated platform hosted on the International Telecommunication Union’s official website.

Recognizing Digital Initiatives

The annual WSIS Prizes, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), serve as a prestigious platform for showcasing digital projects that significantly contribute to the advancement of sustainable development objectives. Over the years, Saudi Arabia’s active participation in this global arena has yielded commendable results. The nation secured a noteworthy tally of 13 awards and 35 certificates of excellence since its inaugural involvement in 2012. These accolades underscore the country’s commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of society and the promotion of inclusive growth on both national and international fronts.
