UAE Allows Citizens to Travel to Lebanon After Weeks-Long Ban

The United Arab Emirates on Monday lifted a weeks-long travel ban to Lebanon, allowing its citizens to visit the country following the recent conflict in the Middle East, according to Arab News.

The Emirati Foreign Ministry announced that citizens would be permitted to travel to Lebanon starting Monday, June 29, 2026. At the same time, it advised UAE nationals to register through its consular services platform before travel.

In April, the UAE banned its citizens from traveling to Lebanon, Iraq and Iran, over mounting security concerns triggered by the Middle East conflict.

War in Iran

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, targeting its leadership and triggering a new conflict in the Middle East.

Iran responded with a retaliatory counterattack in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, while launching barrages of missiles and drones toward Israel.

The conflict spread across the Middle East, leaving thousands dead and triggering unprecedented disruptions to energy supplies especially after the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran and Washington have recently signed an agreement to end the conflict, offering some relief and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Lebanon was drawn into the conflict on March 2 when Hezbollah launched a series of attacks to support its ally, Tehran. As a result, Israel has launched an extensive military campaign that has since killed more than 3000 people.

Ramin Kashefazar, Head of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport, also announced that they have made all the necessary arrangements to restart flights on the Tehran-Dubai route” through the capital’s main international airport, starting from Monday.
