Wage subsidy program hopes to stimulate jobs in the industrial sector

The Ministries of Human Resources, Social Development, Industry and Mineral Resources announced the launch of a wage subsidy program in Saudi Arabia to generate jobs in the industrial sector jobs across the Kingdom in 2021.

The action is in cooperation with the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf), the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, and the Council of Saudi Chambers will provide incentives and support to factories. The parties work on how to raise the attractiveness of jobs in factories for Saudis and provide the appropriate environment for new workers to join the industrial sector. 

Hadaf will be responsible for legislation and regulations that contribute to the general goal while the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training will provide training and qualification. They affirmed that this program will positively impact young men and women searching for jobs and help them raise productivity and quality of work.

The two ministries clarified that the program works through many paths to stimulate the creation of new jobs as hoping factories to raise salaries. Around 50% of the wages subsidy are to hire, train and qualify Saudis (SR3000 maximum). Transportation for females whose salaries are less than 8,000 riyals will be available through the program Wusul, in addition to the training programs provided by Hadaf.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development called out industrial establishments to play their role in providing job opportunities for citizens, attracting national competencies that contribute to supporting the local economy.
