US State Department condemned, in a statement, the attacks of the Yemeni Houthi group on Saudi Arabia, after a period of calm during Eid al-Adha.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the US State Department’s Office of Near Eastern Affairs said, “The Houthis must stop their destabilizing actions and commit to an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire to help end the Yemeni war.”
The statement added: “It is time to return to negotiations and end the conflict.”
Yemeni army defeats the Houthis from several locations in Marib
For the second day in a row, Yemeni army forces have been fighting against Iranian-backed militias in the Yarref region, northwest of Marib Governorate.
According to the Yemeni army’s media centre, army forces defeated the militia in several location across the region on Monday, following severe engagements that cost the militia a lot of lives and equipment.
The center added that the army arrested a group of militia members, and recovered various weapons and ammunition.
On Sunday, the National Army forces inflicted heavy human and material losses on the Houthi militia on the same front.
Also on Sunday, the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile and 4 drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia towards Saudi territory.
