Saudi Arabia concerned over Tunisia’s security: Faisal bin Farhan
Tunisia’s Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi discussed with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the latest development. The Saudi Foreign Minister expressed the kingdom’s concern for Tunisia’s security.
This comes after President Kais Saied ousted the government and froze the parliament on Monday.
Saied moves came after large protests across the country against the government and the biggest party in parliament, the Islamist Ennahda.
Protesters denounced the handling of the pandemic, expressing their anger over the political dysfunction and economic malaise.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah stressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Tunisia’s security, stability, and prosperity. He stated that the Kingdom supports all efforts to accomplish these goals.
The two sides also discussed bilateral relations and ways to boost them across all areas.
