The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) convened a virtual introductory meeting on the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In his opening address, UNA Director General Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami underscored the commission’s efforts to strengthen its media engagement and raise awareness of one of its key achievements—the Jeddah Declaration 2025 on youth empowerment, development, and peace. He described the declaration as a comprehensive framework designed to guide youth-focused policies across OIC member states.
On his part, IPHRC Executive Director Dr. Hadi Al-Yami explained that the Jeddah Declaration 2025 aims to position youth empowerment as a priority in human rights, development, and security. He stressed that young people are viewed as partners in peacebuilding, catalysts for development, and holders of both rights and responsibilities within their communities.
