UAE CALLS ON IRAN TO END ITS OCCUPATION OF 3 EMIRATI ISLANDS
Iran was urged by the UAE to follow international law and good neighbor values, to settle issues peacefully, and to terminate its control of the three Emirati islands of Tunb al-Kubra, Tunb al-Sughra, and Abu Musa.
In an address to the United Nations General Assembly, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, “We will continue to urge on Iran to follow international law, the values of good neighborliness, and to settle conflicts via peaceful means.”
He stated, “We reiterate our demand to Iran for the takeover of the three Emirati islands of Tunb al-Kubra, Tunb al-Sughra, and Abu Musa.”
“Achieving a shared understanding with Iran that meets all regional and world concerns is a vital need,” he added,
He noted that “any future deal with Iran must address the inadequacies of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and include regional nations.”
