Tourism Recovery Summit starts in Riyadh today
The tourism recovery meeting begins today, Wednesday, in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. It is scheduled to start with top tourist industry leaders and decision-makers from around the world expected to attend.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib, the summit will focus on the most pressing issues facing the tourism sector’s re-start and long-term recovery.
Al-Khatib emphasized the importance of cooperation in enabling the sector to recover and develop a more sustainable and resilient future.
Tourism in Saudi Arabia is one of the emerging sectors with rapid growth, and it represents one of the important axes of the Saudi Vision 2030. The tourism attractions in the country englobe historical and heritage treasures, natural and cultural diversity.
According to the 2019 Global Index of Islamic Tourism, the Kingdom was the first Arab destination chosen by Muslim tourists and the fourth in the world among the top ten most visited Muslim tourist destinations.
