Neom has appointed a prestigious team of pioneering partners to provide the core city planning, design, and engineering consultations for the first phase of The Line.
Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA), Gensler, and Mott MacDonald have been selected as the architects for phase one of The Line megacity.
DMAA will be the urban designer, bearing the responsibility of the concept and master plan.
The Line’s urban design will avoid the traditional planning methods unleashing new horizons of microclimate, ecology, mobility, logistics, and sustainability.
Therefore, the firm will shape a cohesive vision that will guide neighborhood architects as they come on board in 2025.
Neom also selected the Global design firm Gensler as the city planning consultant that will provide design coordination, planning policies, land use, and compliance frameworks.
Furthermore, the company will be responsible for designing necessary assets such as transport hubs and public spaces.
Mott MacDonald joins the project as a city infrastructure engineer.
Accordingly, the firm will lead the management and control of vertical and horizontal structures and city utility systems for Phase One.
“As development and construction of THE LINE progresses, we have established a unique partnership that brings world-leading city design and engineering expertise to deliver Phase One,” Denis Hickey, Chief Development Officer for THE LINE, stated.
Moreover, Hickey said that the current partnerships play a pivotal role in showcasing how innovation can change the way we consider, design, and build cities forever.
