Sustainable Supply Chain Conference Kicks Off in Riyadh

The Saudi General Transport Authority (GTA) participates in the fifth edition of the Supply Chain and Logistics Services Conference. Hosted at Riyadh’s Four Seasons Hotel, the theme is “Towards Sustainable Supply Chains to Boost the Circular Economy.” Minister of Transport and Logistics, and GTA’s Chairman, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, sponsors the event.

Showcasing Achievements & Innovations

The GTA showcases its achievements and technological solutions in developing logistics services. It spans road, sea, and rail transportation sectors. The unified logistics platform “Logisti” is highlighted, offering over 70 electronic services. This platform facilitates investors’ access to logistics services through one portal: Logisti.sa.

Focus on National Expertise

The GTA’s accomplishments also include the Saudi Logistics Academy (SAL). SAL focuses on developing national expertise and training them to global standards.

Environmental and Efficiency Initiatives

Other initiatives involve use of double-trailer trucks. These aim to enhance logistics services efficiency, conserve energy and fuel, ensure safety, and reduce environmental emissions.

Technical Solutions for Seamless Transport

Technical solutions displayed include a truck entry and exit mechanism. This system allows trucks to reserve specific times and routes during city access restrictions, preventing congestion.

Additionally, the electronic transport document has been introduced for both local and international trucks. It aims to improve service quality, secure all parties’ rights, and enhance transportation safety.

Hub for Decision-makers

The conference is a gathering for decision-makers in supply chain and logistics. It features seminars, meetings, workshops, and a logistics competition.

The accompanying exhibition provides opportunities to meet clients, display solutions, products, and services from top local and international companies, organizations, and service providers.
