SDAIA Highlights Kingdom’s Efforts for Quality of Life in Smart Cities at Barcelona

The CEO of Smart Cities at SDAIA, Dr. Sultan Al-Subaie, discussed in a panel session titled “Emerging Technologies for an Inclusive Urban Life in Smart Cities” the use of modern technologies to provide infrastructure that includes advanced digital services. These services contribute to improving the well-being of residents in smart cities, increasing job opportunities, enhancing healthcare quality, reducing energy consumption and improving the overall quality of life.
“He explained that SDAIA has harnessed its efforts in the field of digital transformation and the employment of artificial intelligence technologies to keep pace with urban changes in cities and to enable government entities to benefit from these services. Among the most notable of these efforts are enabling smart cities through the Tawakkalna application, the national platform for smart cities, the government cloud “Daim”, the foresight platform, the national platform for charitable work “Ihsan”, the “Sawahir” platform, the national data bank, and the unified national access, among other services.
Nafath Platform
In turn, Dr. Hutham Al-Tuwaijri, the Assistant Director of the National Information Center for Advanced Recognition Technologies and Digital Identity at SDAIA, spoke during a session titled “Enriching Urban Life with Digital Services” about the role of digital identity applications in enabling interconnected and secure smart cities. He also highlighted SDAIA’s efforts in implementing the “Nafath” platform, which utilizes the latest data and artificial intelligence technologies to empower digital identity in the Kingdom and enhance the reliability of digital service adoption.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of digital identity applications as a basic foundation upon which smart city services are built, because of their tangible impact in raising the quality of urban life.
