Saudi’s ‘Riyadh’ selected as first Arab digital capital for 2020

The Saudi capital, “Riyadh”, was chosen as the first Arab digital capital in a ceremony held on Wednesday evening, on the sidelines of the 23rd session of the Arab Council of Ministers for Communications and Information, under the slogan “Arab ambition, for a digital generation”.

The 23rd session of the Arab Council of Ministers for Communications and Information is considered one of the approved activities on the sidelines of the G20 summit hosted by the Kingdom in 2020.

According to the Saudi news channel of Al-Arabyia, Riyadh’s choice came after it entered the digital world in a strong way, as it became the first in the field of communications and information technology in Middle East and North Africa.

Riyadh also ranked first globally in reforms to digitizing business, topping digital security in the Middle East, it moreover launched 5G services.
