Saudia Partially Resumes Flights to Dubai

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, announced the partial resumption of flights between the Kingdom and Dubai after total suspension in the heels of the recent military escalations in the region.

Starting from March 7, 2026, Saudia will operate outbound and inbound flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to Dubai, the airline said in an official statement.

Initially, the flights will run on a limited schedule, with the restoration of additional services expected to take place gradually.

However, flights to and from Amman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain will remain suspended until March 8, due to the ongoing developments, Saudia said in an earlier statement.

Meanwhile, the suspension of flights to and from Moscow and Peshawar has been extended until March 15, 2026.

Saudia emphasized it is evaluating the gradual return of select services with further updates to follow. It also confirmed that it is prioritizing the safety and security of its passengers and crew.

The recent military escalation between the US, Israel and Iran has disrupted air travel, with several countries across the region closing their airspace, resulting in thousands of flight suspensions and cancellations.

Major carriers from the Middle East, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US, such as Saudia, Emirates, Etihad, Air France, British Airways, Air India, Turkish Airlines, and Lufthansa, cancelled flights, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

In response, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, issued a directive to host citizens from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who are stranded in Saudi airports. The directive came upon a proposal from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
