Saudia Cargo, SFDA Partner to Streamline Medical Supply Chains

Saudia Cargo – Saudi Arabia’s national cargo carrier – has launched a strategic initiative, in collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), to boost the flow of essential medical supplies in the Kingdom.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new initiative aims to strengthen pharmaceutical and medical supply chains in line with Saudi Arabia’s national goals to ensure the continuous flow of essential shipments.

The initiative provides incentives of up to 50% on air freight costs. Therefore, it directly reduces shipping costs for pharmaceutical importers while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of these shipments.

This collaboration between Saudia Cargo and SFDA is part of the Kingdom’s proactive logistics resilience, designed to safeguard public health and ensure economic stability.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s leadership in securing critical pharmaceutical supply chains and its ability to adapt to market shifts.

It also demonstrates how public-private partnerships within the logistics sector are driving operational efficiency within the national transport system.

Saudia Cargo, supported by its IATA CEIV Pharma and CEIV Fresh certifications, boasts advanced capabilities to manage this initiative. Through its sophisticated cold-chain solutions, the company ensures safe transport and strict temperature management in accordance with international regulations and SFDA requirements, providing a critical foundation for preserving the safety of pharmaceuticals and the quality of perishable products.
