Saudi-US naval exercise to raise combat readiness

The Western Fleet’s mixed bilateral naval exercise “Defender Blue – 21” between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the US Navy was launched yesterday in the presence of the Western Fleet’s Assistant Commander and the exercise’s commander, Rear Admiral Mansour bin Saud Al-Juaid, and US Navy Naval Colonel Daniel Bailey.

The ten-day exercise’s maneuvers aim to strengthen relations and military cooperation, raise combat readiness between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the US Navy. It also aims to exchange experiences in the field of port protection, demining on land and underwater, according to the exercise commander.

The exercise also demonstrates security capabilities for securing regional and international seas and waterways, as well as ensuring freedom of marine navigation in the Red Sea.
