Saudi Transport Ministry aspires to achieve 6th place globally in road quality by 2030

National Transport and Logistics Strategy of the Ministry of Transport and logistics plans to reach the sixth rank in the world in road quality by 2030.

It seeks to contribute to improving the quality of life in cities by providing safe and high-quality roads.

In 2016, the Kingdom climbed to the 37th position, then to the 30th position in 2018, and then to the 26th position in 2019.

According to the Global Competitiveness Forum, these developments underline the Kingdom’s intensified efforts to enhance its road network, which is the first in the world in terms of interconnection.

The Ministry implemented many safety initiatives that contributed to reducing the accident rate to 56% and the number of deaths by 51%,

It also contributed to reducing the total injuries by 30%, which contributed to providing a financial return to the community of SAR 8.5 billion.
