Saudi Team Wins 2 International Awards at Specifications Olympics

The Saudi Standards Team won a bronze medal and honorary award in its first participation in the International Standards Olympiad in South Korea.
The event was held from August 12 to 14 and witnessed the participation of 200 students from 11 countries, including Japan, Russia, and China.

A group of high school students, including Rayan Al-Juhani, Bandar Al-Khayyat, and Abdulaziz Al-Harbi, won the bronze medal. Meanwhile, a middle school group with Sarah Al-Duhamshi, Wajd Hasouba, and Huda Andejani received an honorary award from Industrial Technology Evaluation.

Saudi Team

The Kingdom participated with a team of 9 competitors. The team consisted of male and female students from high school and middle school levels. Moreover, they were divided into 3 teams that went through preliminary stages leading to the main competition. Afterwards, the competitors were tasked with assignments designed to stimulate their knowledge and proficiency in the world of standards.

It is worth noting that the Standards Olympiad is an international competition held annually for middle and high school students. It aims to showcase the participants’ knowledge of the world of standards, as well as to exchange new ideas about technology. The Olympiad started as a local competition in South Korea in 2006. Furthermore, it has since evolved into an open international competition since 2014.
