Construction of the Aramco Stadium in Al Khobar is entering its final phases ahead of an expected 2026 opening, with a capacity of nearly 47,000 spectators. The venue will rank among Saudi Arabia’s modern sports facilities, supporting the Kingdom’s preparations to host major international tournaments, including the AFC Asian Cup 2027 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Set across approximately 800,000 square meters, the project is conceived as more than a football stadium—an integrated destination for sports, entertainment and community activities. It features fan facilities, commercial and leisure spaces and open areas designed for year-round use beyond match days.
Design Inspired by Movement of Water
The stadium’s architectural identity draws on the fluidity of a “water vortex,” expressed through its facades and external curves. The design evokes movement and energy, giving the building a dynamic visual presence that shifts with the viewing angle.
Sustainability and operational efficiency are central to the concept; the design has earned the Diamond “Mostadam” certificate for engineering works, the highest rating under Saudi Arabia’s sustainable building program.
Advanced Technologies to Protect Pitch
To preserve pitch quality amid climate variations, the stadium employs a subsurface system that removes excess moisture and aerates grass layers, maintaining readiness and performance.

An irrigation system uses real-time grass condition data and climate variables to optimize water use, improving efficiency and reducing waste. Moreover, the pitch comprises 95% natural grass and 5% reinforced hybrid grass, supported by LED Grow Light lamps that promote growth in shaded areas.
Seamless Fan Experience: Parking, Access, Circulation
About 9,000 parking spaces connect to the stadium’s key elements via a 550-meter main pedestrian route. The path also leads to the fan zone in roughly ten minutes on foot, with access to the bowl via three bridges, the longest spanning 350 meters.
Crowd entry is managed through 15 gates atop the surrounding concourse, with escalators and fixed stairs distributing spectators to lower and upper tiers to ensure smooth flow from arrival to seating.
33 Concessions, Optimized Seating
The venue includes 33 points of sale—restaurants, cafés and other options—distributed throughout to serve fans before matches and during events.
Seating prioritizes comfort and sightlines, with longer backrests, cup holders and layout calibrated to the “C-Value” standard to minimize obstruction from rows ahead. Seat colors align with the identity of Al Qadsiah Club, owned by Saudi Aramco.

Premium Hospitality: 2,000+ Seats, Lounges, Suites
A separate hospitality experience begins with dedicated entrances and parking, leading to private reception areas on the ground floor. Facilities include more than 2,000 seats, three exclusive lounges and 30 private suites on the eastern and western sides.
Suites feature independent balconies and seating with premium viewing angles, delivering a high level of privacy and comfort.
Destination Beyond Football
Beyond hosting competitions, the project aims to transform the stadium’s surroundings into a year-round social and entertainment destination. Additionally, the area will include shops, markets, cafés, entertainment venues, gardens, walking and cycling paths, multi-sport courts and children’s play areas.

Urban planning keeps the perimeter open—without gates or fences—to integrate the site with Al Khobar’s urban fabric and encourage use as a public space for sports, leisure and community gatherings.
With its 2026 opening, Aramco Stadium is poised to be a landmark addition to Saudi Arabia’s sports infrastructure—combining a 47,000-seat capacity with advanced pitch management, sustainability credentials, dedicated fan and guest infrastructure, and year-round amenities as the Kingdom prepares for major sporting events in the coming years.
