Saudi, Swiss Tourism Authorities Sign MOU

The Saudi Tourism Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swiss Tourism Authority. The signing ceremony was held at the Saudi Tourism Authority’s headquarters.

Distinguished Attendees

The ceremony was attended by Guy Parmelin, Swiss Federal Councillor and Minister of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, and Yasmin Chatila, Swiss Ambassador to the Kingdom.

Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, and Ivio Gotz, GCC Area Manager for the Swiss Tourism Authority, signed the agreement.

First of Its Kind

This pioneering agreement aims to exchange expertise, visions, and information. It will launch joint initiatives, projects and programs.

Marketing Collaboration

The partnership focuses on identifying joint marketing opportunities. This aims to promote a variety of travel destinations in both countries. There’s a special focus on attractions such as marine activities, culture and heritage, as well as rural tourism.

Utilizing Modern Technology

Both authorities will use advanced technologies to enhance visitor experience. This includes smoother, more enjoyable, and safer journeys through local tourism agencies and companies collaboration.

Executive Statements

Fahd Hamidaddin expressed the partnership’s significance in fostering international cooperation and developing quality tourism experiences. On his part, Ivio Gotz highlighted Saudi Arabia’s importance as a key international market for Switzerland.

Joint Events

Both authorities will organize events, exhibitions, and conferences. These efforts aim to boost the tourism sector’s development in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Ambitious Goals

Saudi Arabia aims to welcome 150 million visitors by 2030. The country is boosting its global connectivity with a $100 billion aviation strategy. This includes flights linking Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.

Easier Travel

The agreement comes at a time Saudi Arabia authorities have eased travel procedures. Thanks to various entry visas, including e-visas and a rich digital infrastructure provided by the “Spirit of Saudi” platform.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the tourism sectors of both nations, promising a future of shared growth and mutual benefits.
