Saudi Ports Authority announces new service to link King Abdulaziz Port with Global Market
The Saudi General Authority of Ports “Mawani” announced recently the launch of “ALADIN EXPRESS DMCC” to the shipping line “GIX2” in King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam
This line will contribute to increasing direct trade opportunities and maritime shipping operations between the Kingdom and the countries of the world.
The new shipping line provides a link service between King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and the ports of “Emirati Jebel Ali, Bahrain’s Khalifa, Qatar’s Hamad, and India’s Mundra.”
The ship “Green Ace”, which carries the equivalent of 1,740 TEUs in capacity every two weeks, links many of these ports.
This came within the framework of the movement witnessed by Saudi ports to enhance the maritime transport sector and ports, and to upgrade all services provided.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is witnessing the manufacture of three new coastal container cranes, with the latest technology in its quality, to receive huge ships.
This manufacturing is following the agreement signed between the Saudi International Ports Company (SGP) and Shanghai Shenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), under the supervision of the Saudi Ports Authority.
The port, which ranks 14th globally in the container performance index issued by the World Bank, achieved the highest record in its history during August 2022, by handling 19,9609 standard containers in one month.
