Saudi Photographer Secures 2nd Place in Mansoor Al Nahyan Award for Arabian Horses
Saudi photographer, Suleiman Al-Qablan, clinched the second position in the ninth edition of Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Photography Award for Arabian Horses, particularly in the events category. This category mandates the inclusion of human interaction with horses in the captured images, showcasing the detailed bond between humans and horses.
Reflecting Cultural Interactions Through Lens
In an interview with “Arabiya.net”, Al-Qablan expressed his keen interest in capturing cultures and human interactions with them. The winning photograph was taken in Al-Rass province. It embodied the Najdi culture of Saudi Arabia, portraying Arabian attire, horses, and falcons in a creative triad.
Saudi Photographer Illustrating Identity Through Imagery
The Saudi Photographer emphasized that the photograph reflects Saudi identity. It was chosen specifically to depict local environment with its attire and details. He endeavored to represent it through the elements present in the attire, the horse, and the falcon. This earned him second place in this international competition among 940 entries in the horse events category.
Unveiling of Ninth Edition of Award
On another note, the Arab Photographers Union announced the launch of the ninth edition of the Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Photography Award for Arabian Horses. It coincides with the 14th edition of the Horse Exhibition in the city of El Jadida, Morocco October 17-22, 2023.

This award receives significant honor and support from Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Minister of the Presidential Affairs, showcasing his keen interest and patronage for Arabian horses. Besides, he allocated substantial funds to honor the best works encompassing the beauty of Arabian horses, horse events, and introduced a new category dedicated to video filmmaking for horses.
