Saudi, South Korean Ministers Discuss Technological Collaboration

 

The Saudi Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Eng. Abduallah bin Amer Al Swaha, met on Friday his South Korean counterpart to explore potential collaborations in the technology sector. During his visit, Al Swaha met with leaders from major technology, space, and innovation companies, aiming to foster partnerships and enhance Saudi Arabia’s capabilities in these areas.

Expanding Technical Solutions

In his recent visit to South Korea, Al-Swaha also met with the leaders of NAVER company, a prominent technology firm, to explore possibilities for expanding their partnership in advanced technical solutions based on data and artificial intelligence. This collaboration seeks to enhance the systems and services for innovative business models which will particularly benefit emerging Saudi companies in various sectors. 

One of the key points during Al-Swaha’s visit was with the President of Korean Aerospace Industries Company, Kang Goo-young. The Saudi Minister discussed ways to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s space capabilities and foster partnerships in advanced technologies, satellite development, systems integration, and space services. This collaboration aims to boost the systems and services for innovative business models, particularly emerging Saudi companies. 

During his visit, the Saudi Communications Minister also engaged with Samsung, a global leader in technology, to discuss potential collaborations and explore opportunities for investment in the Saudi market. Additionally, Al Swaha met with several venture capital investors and investment funds to discuss potential partnerships and investment opportunities in the technology sector. The meeting also highlighted the growing importance of technology collaborations between the two countries. Saudi Arabia is keen on expanding its technological capabilities and fostering partnerships with global leaders in the industry. It also marks a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen partnerships between both countries. 

The meeting also focused on topics such as e-government, initiatives connected to big data utilization, digital twins, and advanced technologies to achieve growth. Moreover, it also discussed means to “support entrepreneurs, opening shared markets, and enhancing integration and partnership between the two countries’ digital entrepreneurship and investment opportunity generation systems” as stated by Arab News.
