Saudi footballer Al-Shahrani moves to Riyadh to receive treatment

Saudi footballer Yasser al-Shahrani was moved from the hospital in Doha to Riyadh on Wednesday where he will undergo surgery following a gruesome clash with goalkeeper Mohammed al-Owais during the team’s World Cup match with Argentina on Tuesday.

Yasser Al-Shahrani of Saudi Arabia was treated in a hospital room in Hamad Medical City in Qatar, where he sustained serious injuries during the Saudi Arabia and Argentina game, which ended with a thrilling Saudi victory with two goals to one for Argentina, scored by Lionel Messi from a penalty kick, in the first-round matches of Group C of the Qatar World Cup 2022 Championship.

During a brief video, Yasser Al-Shahrani spoke with difficulty and reassured the Saudi public about his health condition, asking them to pray for him, and at the same time congratulating his teammates on the victory over the Argentine national team.

Yasser Al-Shahrani was injured during the Argentina match after colliding directly with his team’s goalkeeper Muhammad Al-Owais. Al-Shahrani suffered from a fracture of the jaw and the left side of the teeth, as well as internal bleeding.

The Saudi Football Association revealed the current health developments of player Yasser Al-Shahrani, who suffered a severe injury during the Al-Akhdar match with Argentina.

Al-Shahrani was severely injured during the Argentina match, after colliding directly with goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais.

The Saudi Federation confirmed, in an official statement issued today, Wednesday, that Yasser Al-Shahrani was transferred to Hamad Medical City, as a result of a strong clash in the head, chest, and abdomen, where his condition was stable, and he performed all the necessary medical examinations and will be under observation during the coming hours.

Saudi Arabia scored two goals against Argentina in the first match of Group C of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday.
