Iranian foreign minister praises Saudi Kingdom, calls for dialogue

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister said that the Iranian-Saudi dialogue serves the entire region.

He said that he wouldn’t blame Saudi officials because of one of the satellite channels.

“We are committed to what we reached in the fifth round of dialogue with Riyadh,” Abdollahian said in a statement.

He indicated that Iran has complied with the commitments it made, and some of the commitments of the Saudi side have not been fulfilled so far.

He believed that “dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia serves the entire region.”

The minister criticized a Saudi-backed satellite channel that undermines Iran’s security, showing that he has censured Saudi officials.

The Saudi side considered this criticism a departure from Iran’s obligations.

He said, “The authorities of the regional countries did not take positions against us during recent security developments, unlike the European and Western parties.”
