Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Turkish Counterpart Hakan Fidan signed an amended protocol to establish the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The council aims primarily at boosting the Saudi-Turkish relations and unleashing new horizons for the bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The signing ceremony took place at Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul as part of the Saudi Foreign Minister’s official visit to Turkey.

During the meeting, they delved into the ways that can foster the bilateral coordination and strengthen the joint coordination on all issues of mutual concern.
In a press conference following the meeting, Prince Faisal highlighted that the Saudi-Turkish trade exchange countries amounted to 6.8 billion dollars in 2023, achieving a remarkable growth of 15% over the previous year.
Furthermore, he expressed his enthusiasm to further deepen the bilateral economic cooperation driven by the outstanding economic components and visions of both countries.

The prince also welcomed the initiative to hold the second session of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council in the city of Riyadh to enhance the current partnership.
The Saudi Minister also indicated that he has covered several regional issues with his Turkish Counterpart, notably Gaza War and Israel’s genocide in the Strip.

He also highlighted that both countries have the same political instances as they are pursuing peace in the entire region and halting the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Moreover, they confirmed the necessity of preventing the Palestinian displacement, facilitating the entry of the humanitarian aids to Gaza, and granting the Palestinians the right to self-determination and an internationally recognized Palestinian State.
