Saudi FM heads the Kingdom’s delegation to the UN General Assembly

Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, left for New York City in the US, where His Highness is heading the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the work of the UN General Assembly in its seventy-seventh session.

 

The Saudi delegation included the membership of HRH Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the US, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Rasi, and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

 

The Kingdom’s participation this year deals with discussing strategies and policies to promote economic and health recovery from global crises, and keenness to strengthen multilateral action to achieve prosperity and prosperity in the whole world, in addition to holding several bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries.

The Kingdom’s delegation, headed by His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will participate in the ministerial meeting of the GCC with the US +4 (the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, and the Republic of Yemen).

His Highness will also chair the Gulf side in several ministerial meetings of the GCC with the People’s Republic of China, the UK, the Russian Federation, the French Republic, and the EU, in addition to participating in the annual coordination ministerial meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of the (OIC) Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

 

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs will attend the high-level event on the Rohingya crisis organized by the Republic of Bangladesh in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as well as the World Food Security Summit, the ministerial meeting of the Friends of the Global Development Initiative, the ministerial meeting of the global action plan Covid-19, and the round table meeting of the response group Global crises related to food, energy, and finance.

 

The participation of the Kingdom’s delegation in the work of the UN General Assembly at its 77th session confirms the importance of multilateral action, strengthening its active presence on the international scene.

Saudi’s participation at the aforementioned assembly emphaizes the Kingdom’s firm position towards the common challenges facing the region and the world.

The assembly will discuss international and regional issues, including the issue of Palestine and war in Ukraine, and its support for everything that leads to the establishment of international peace and security.
