Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said in Jordan that he discussed the region’s security and political concerns during a joint news conference in Amman with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.He also stated that the two sides discussed Iran’s disruptive influence in the region.
At the same time, he emphasized that the Kingdom’s hand is extended for conversation if Tehran solves the threats to the region’s security and stability.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, denounced all terrorist actions against Saudi Arabia and praised the Kingdom’s support for Jordan.
Al-Safadi met with the Saudi Foreign Minister at the Jordanian Foreign Ministry’s headquarters, where they discussed “means to improve the well-established fraternal relations between the two nations and the recent regional events.”
According to a Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement, the two sides also had talks focusing on measures to enhance the two brotherly nations’ historical and strategic cooperation in all domains, as well as coordinate views on regional trends and international problems of mutual importance.
Iran’s government backs several militias in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, in addition to Yemen. The Saudi Foreign Ministry has often denounced Iran’s disruptive role in regional security, as well as its backing for militias in a number of Arab nations, asking for an end to such actions that hinder any avenues for negotiation or a settlement.
