Saudi Fashiontex Expo: International Platform for Industry Pioneers

Saudi Arabia is gearing up for hosting the second edition of the Saudi Fashiontex Expo in Riyadh.

Scheduled on August 27-29, 2024, at the Riyadh International Exhibition and Convention Center, the event will bring together national and international companies from different sectors in the biggest international exhibition in the Gulf region for fashion, textiles and leather.

The second edition of the Saudi Fashion and Tex Expo will provide companies from various industry sectors with the opportunity to showcase and promote their skills and meet new partners, enabling them to discover the latest trends, explore new thriving markets and build long-term partnerships.

The Saudi Fashiontex Expo will host more than 500 exhibitors from 13 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, Italy, Spain, India and more. The Expo is anticipated to attract 18,000 visitors from 26 countries from the Middle East and Gulf countries, North Africa, Asia and Europe.

New Opportunities

The Saudi Fashiontex Expo offers unique opportunity for stakeholders and business owners to explore the latest trends in the fashion and textile industries and market their products. The Expo will feature women’s and men’s clothing, sportswear, textile accessories, fabrics, knitwear, leather products and haute couture designs, in addition to shoes and bags.

With Saudi Arabia being one of the most thriving customer markets in the Middle East, the event provides a chance for market expansion by exhibiting fashion-related products. It also promotes brand visibility by displaying products to diverse audience and attracting new customers.

Furthermore, it provides regional and international franchisers with the opportunity to connect with industry professionals and potential partners, boosting business growth. Supporting Fashion Industry

The chairman of the Expo and CEO of Pyramids Group, the organizing company, Mohamed El-Sherif, praised the efforts of the Saudi government to support the industry. On this occasion, he thanked the Saudi government, and the Riyadh and Jeddah chambers of commerce for their support, according to Arab News.

Furthermore, he pointed to the event’s transformation into a prime fashion destination that features new elements and activities. He noted that the Saudi Fashiontex Expo will enable Saudi companies to connect with international counterparts, establishing agencies, distributorships as well as joint ventures.

He added that exclusive B2B meetings hosted by the Expo will facilitate business relationships and partnerships.

Guest of Honor

Morocco is this year’s Guest of Honor, as announced by the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services in Casablanca. The country will participate in the Fashiontex Expo with around 10 fashion houses.

Similarly, Egypt aims to highlight its flourishing textile industry. The president of the Chamber of Garment Industry in Egypt, Mohammed Abdelsalam, underlined Egypt’s efforts to showcase its finest textile products and enhance cultural exchange.

Saudi Fashion Industry

In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) aims to transform the Kingdom into an industrial powerhouse and global logistics hub.

As a result, fashion industry has witnessed a boom in Saudi Arabia in recent years. According to the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat) report for the first quarter of 2024, the total value of fashion industry in Saudi Arabia reached SAR 92.3bn. The Saudi local fashion industry accounted for SAR 46.9bn of that figure.

Moreover, expenditure on imported brands in the fashion sector amounted to SAR 27.4bn, leading to an increase in the expected cumulative growth of the fashion sector by 48% between 2021 and 2025.

Saudi Fashion Events

In addition to the Saudi Fashiontex Expo, the Kingdom has organized many world-class fashion events. In May, Saudi Arabia launched the first edition of the Red Sea Fashion Week at the new St. Regis Red Sea Resort. The event featured fashion shows displaying a collection of luxury fashion, jewelry, ready-to-wear, and resort fashion by Saudi and international designers.
