Saudi Export Participates in 9th International Iraq Energy Expo
Direct Gateway to Iraqi Energy Market
The Saudi Export Development Authority, commonly referred to as “Saudi Exports,” is actively participating in the 9th International Iraq Energy Expo and Conference.
This significant event is taking place in Baghdad, from February 12th to February 14th, 2024. Under the patronage of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani and the Ministry of Electricity, the conference aims to enhance collaboration with investment entities that have a focus on the energy sector in Iraq.
Direct Gateway to Iraqi Energy Market
The expo is recognized as a pivotal access point to the burgeoning Iraqi energy market, providing unique opportunities for face-to-face interactions with Iraqi officials and key decision-makers from various sectors.
This interaction is crucial for establishing direct business relationships and understanding market needs.
Strengthening Saudi Exporters
For Saudi exporters, the expo is more than an event; it’s a strategic platform to explore and seize additional opportunities. These opportunities are vital for broadening their market reach, not only regionally but also on a global scale.
Participation aligns seamlessly with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives, which include diversifying the Kingdom’s income streams of Saudi products and services.
Achieving excellence and reliability in exports is key to redirecting global purchasing power towards Saudi offerings.
Iraqi Market: Promising Export Destination
The Iraqi market represents a significant export destination for Saudi Arabia, showing promising growth potential. Over the last five years, from 2018 up to the third quarter of 2023, the Kingdom’s non-oil exports to Iraq have reached an impressive total of SAR 18.17 billion.
This figure highlights the robust trade relations between the two nations and underscores the importance of the Iraqi market in Saudi Arabia’s export strategy.
Enhancing Economic, Trade Relations
Efforts to bolster economic and trade relations are further exemplified by Saudi Arabia’s role as the guest of honor at the 47th Baghdad International Fair in January.
This participation, marked by diamond-level sponsorship, led to the signing of 75 agreements and (MoU)s between Saudi and Iraqi firms.
Moreover, the inclusion of over 500 Saudi products in Iraqi retail outlets stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s success in enhancing its non-oil export footprint.
Major Participation in Baghdad International Fair
Saudi Arabia’s prominent participation preceding its involvement in the 9th International Iraq Energy Expo sets a precedent for future engagements.
These initiatives are indicative of Saudi Arabia’s strategic approach to deepen its economic influence in Iraq and beyond. It also showcases the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic partnerships.
