The Saudi Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with the Saudi Export Development Authority; to agree on a joint framework for developing the economic impact of the cultural sector.
The Ministry will provide many promising opportunities for people working in the cultural sector. It will expand the scope of their businesses and promote them locally and globally, as well as encourage consumers to purchase local goods and enhance the Kingdom’s exports to global markets.
The Ministry was represented at the signing ceremony that took place at the front of Riyadh by, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr. Hamid Muhammad Fayez, while the Commission was represented by its Secretary-General, His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil.
The memorandum included multiple areas of cooperation, including the contribution of the cultural system to the strategy of the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program related to the cultural sectors, and the contribution to the expansion of the range of industries and products targeted by the program by including products related to the cultural sector.
The memorandum also included cooperation in promoting cultural products and their manufacturers, facilitating their access to local and international markets through the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program, supporting their participation in international exhibitions, developing sub-brands of the program in line with the cultural sectors, and building the capacities of cultural producers from Through training programs and consultancy for quality certificates, and the development of content and skills provided by the program.
The memorandum of understanding comes within the tireless efforts led by the Ministry of Culture to achieve the principle of partnership and integration with government agencies and to work towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
