Saudi Defense Minister Meets French Ambassador in Riyadh

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met on Monday with the French Ambassador to the Kingdom, Ludovic Pouille, in Riyadh.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), both officials reviewed bilateral relations and discussed a number of issues and topics of common interest.

The meeting took place in Prince Khalid’s office, with the attendance of the deputy minister of defense, Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.

The assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Khaled bin Hussein Al-Biyari, and Office of the Minister of Defense Director General Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif also attended the meeting.

The military attaché to the Kingdom Jean-Christophe Guerdet and the ambassador’s adviser Wassim Zammat represented the French side.

The French Ambassador said the meeting took place on the occasion of the end of his mission in Riyadh. He thanked the Saudi Defense Minister on behalf of the French authorities for the excellence of defense cooperation between both countries.

During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for strengthening strategic partnership and international issues of common interest, Pouille wrote on X.

Saudi-French Solid Relations

Earlier this month, Pouille expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom’s leadership and the strategic partnership between the French and Saudi peoples, commending the high-level coordination between both countries across different areas.

Moreover, the French Ambassador hailed the Kingdom’s efforts to build a more stable and sustainable planet for future generations.

Marking the end of his term as an ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Pouille thanked the Saudi government and people for their generous hospitality and friendship throughout his four-year-term.

He said he would return to the Kingdom as a tourist, highlighting the natural and historical attractions across Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Pouille stressed his optimism regarding the future of Saudi-French relations. “The sky is our limit,” he said.
