Saudi Culture Minister meets the founder of Korean SM Entertainment

During his visit to Seoul on June 8 and 9, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, met with Su Man Lee, founder of SM Entertainment, to explore ways to improve current cooperation with Korean cultural authorities.

Music education, training, presenting music performances, festivals, and stimulating joint musical creation were among the topics covered by the two parties.

The Saudi Ministry of Culture signed a framework cooperation agreement with CGENM Co., Ltd. in Seoul, South Korea, to strengthen the Kingdom’s cultural sector in a comparable direction.

The two sides decided to cooperate in the areas of films, music, and cultural events, as well as looking into collaboration on a variety of cultural projects, such as cinematic and musical activities, as well as cultural centers that highlight Saudi and Korean heritage in music, art, food, performing arts, heritage, films, and architecture.

The agreement is part of the ministry’s attempts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s cultural sector by bringing in successful international experiences and capabilities in a variety of fields. It also encourages and supports Saudi innovators in their numerous specializations, as well as offers high-quality cultural choices for the Saudi people, to achieve the aims of “Vision 2030.”
