The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, made on Wednesday a phone call with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the call, both leaders praised the distinguished relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia, as well as efforts made towards strengthening bilateral ties. They also explored ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields.
Moreover, the Saudi Crown Prince and the Russian President discussed a wide range of topics of common interest, including the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis and efforts made to address it.
Furthermore, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding political, trade, economic and humanitarian links between the two friendly countries, according to the Kremlin‘s readout of the call.
In addition, they emphasized the importance of continued close coordination within the OPEC+ group, stating “the effectiveness and timeliness of the steps taken in this format to ensure balance on the global energy market.”
The topics discussed included the complicated regional situation, in the light of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, with both leaders agreeing that “the principled approaches of Russia and Saudi Arabia with regard to the Middle East settlement are essentially identical.”
The Saudi Crown Prince and the Russian President also explored other topics, including the recent BRICS Summit in Kazan, and agreed to keep contact.
