Saudi Arabia,US agree to boost security in the Middle East
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and US FM Anthony Blinken asserted the intensification of coordination and bilateral work on some regional and international issues, the most important of which is strengthening security and stability in the Middle East.
In a phone discussion, Monday, the two sides addressed the strategic connections between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the US of America, as well as efforts to promote and strengthen them in all areas.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), they also discussed regional and international matters of mutual interest.
Blinken embarked on a multi-day excursion to the Middle East and North Africa on Saturday, stopping in Israel and the Palestinian Authority before heading to Morocco and Algeria.
The purpose of the trip is to undertake consultations on the ramifications of Russia’s war in Ukraine, the implications of probable agreements with Iran to return to the nuclear deal, and efforts to broaden the scope of the Abraham Peace Accords.
