Saudi Arabia Welcomes Formula E Race for 3rd Year in a Row

For the third year in a row, Saudi Arabia will host the Formula E races at the Diriyah Circuit on 26 and 27 February 2021, which will experience its evening competitions through the use of LED racetrack lighting, for the first time in the history of the international race since its inception.

The race is organized by the Ministry Sports in cooperation with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, with the participation of 24 riders from the most prominent players representing many famous companies in the electric sports car industry such as Porsche and Mercedes-Benz.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the sports sector during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud witnessed generous interest and support that made it continue its achievements in all sports.

The past sporting seasons hosted in the Kingdom had received attention at the level of the international and local media, and witnessed a great sporting movement, after the General Sports Authority organized a number of various sporting events. In addition, it attracted many sporting events to enter Saudi Arabia into a new sporting era that fulfills the aspirations of the wise leadership and society to reach Saudi sports for global competitiveness.

Noteworthy, Saudi Arabia bid farewell to the “Saudi Cup” in its second edition, which was achieved by the horse “honorable” and won the world title, and its prize money is $20 million, which is the most expensive horse racing cup around the world and its total prizes are $30 million over the course of February 19 and 20 .
