Saudi Arabia to Host 39th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference via Videoconference
Under the auspicious of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia will host the 39th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) on Thursday via videoconference, according to Arab News.
Jointly organized by the Shura Council and the AIPU, the conference will bring together speakers of Arab parliaments and legislative councils, alongside representatives of multiple regional and international organizations.
Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh expressed his sincere gratitude for the patronage of King Salman, describing it as a reflection of the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to strengthening joint Arab action.
He further noted that this support highlights the dedication of King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to enhancing Arab cooperation and solidifying the role of collective Arab solidarity in promoting regional security and stability. Al Al-Sheikh also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to boost sustainable development and promote prosperity throughout the Arab world.
“Joint Arab action represents a fundamental pillar for addressing current challenges and an important basis for unifying positions and coordinating parliamentary efforts,” Al Al-Sheikh said.
Through all these efforts, the Kingdom helps bolster regional stability and safeguard common Arab interests, while elevating the role of parliamentary institutions in supporting sustainable development and reinforcing the principles of dialogue, cooperation, and integration across the Arab world.
Al Al-Sheikh also said the Shura Council is eager to welcome delegates to the conference and voiced hope that its outcomes will strengthen joint Arab parliamentary cooperation and reinforce parliamentary diplomacy as a vital platform for championing Arab causes and addressing regional and global challenges.
