Saudi Arabia plans to invest $100 billion in the aviation sector until 2030
Saudi Minister of Transport, Saleh Al-Jasser, said that Saudi Arabia will attract investments of more than $100 billion in the public and private sectors until the end of the current decade.
This came on the sidelines of the “Future of Aviation Conference”, which kicked off in Riyadh today, with the participation of 2,000 exhibitors from 60 countries.
During the conference, Al-Jasser launched the national aviation strategy, which targets 250 direct destinations to and from the Kingdom’s airports, inaugurated a new air carrier, and tripled air traffic.
For the first time, the conference will witness billions of dollars in deals, as more than 50 agreements and memorandums of understanding will be inked, as well as a huge number of public-private partnerships.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation is also beginning a campaign to standardize health-related procedures and rules to aid the aviation industry’s recovery from the Corona pandemic.
The organization of the conference falls under the objectives of the Saudi Transport and Logistics Strategy to provide investment opportunities worth $100 billion.
This will contribute to transforming the Kingdom into a global aviation hub, attracting 330 million passengers by 2030.
