Saudi Arabia Names Japan Envoy as Pavilion Commissioner for Expo 2025 Osaka
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Ghazi Binzagr, has been appointed as the general commissioner for the Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
The announcement coincides with the final stages of construction for the pavilion, as the Kingdom prepares for its participation in the global exhibition, scheduled to begin in April.
Dr. Binzagr, who has served as ambassador since 2024, will take on this new role alongside his current diplomatic duties, according to the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
His previous experience includes serving three terms as a member of the Shoura Council, where he also held the role of deputy chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee from 2023 to 2024.
As ambassador, Dr. Binzagr has worked to strengthen Saudi-Japanese relations, contributing to initiatives such as the Saudi-Japanese Business Forum and fostering collaboration in key areas like energy security, technology, trade, and investment.
The Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka symbolizes Saudi Arabia’s dedication to global efforts for sustainable human development.
Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to start construction on their pavilion at the Osaka site in February of last year. The pavilion’s design showcases the Kingdom’s rich history, vibrant culture, and ongoing economic transformation, the SPA reported.
