The Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, confirmed that the Presidency launched its proactive plan for the Hajj season, supported by a package of specific initiatives to serve the pilgrims.
His Excellency praised the efforts of the Saudi leadership in taking care of the two Holy mosques and serving the pilgrims.
Hajj Preparations
To ensure a smooth and seamless experience for pilgrims, the Kingdom’s transportation and logistics sector has finished preparations for the Hajj season and is ready to receive pilgrims by land, air, sea, and rail.
Leading the effort is the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), which has secured 3.4 million seats on 7,700 flights to accommodate the influx of pilgrims, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In the current year, 2024, the Saudi Ministry of Interior and its partners from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, and the General Directorate of Passports, continue to implement Makkah Route Initiative and provide its services to pilgrims, including issuing Hajj visas, and coding their luggage electronically.
In 2017, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced launching the Makkah Route Initiative as part of the Program for Serving pilgrims. It is one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 to provide high-quality services to pilgrims, by completing their procedures at their home countries easily and smoothly.
